Finding a niche in the property market isn’t easy, but a new Dubai start-up has done exactly that.
The company, called SellAnyHome.com, promises to sell your home within half an hour – a strong claim but one that could be music to many sellers’ ears.
Founder Omar Chihane tried to sell his house last year, and found it a long and difficult experience.
Despite lots of viewings and contact from estate agents, nothing was happening. This changed when a real estate investor made him an offer over the phone. This out of the blue offer meant the transaction was soon completed. All of which gave Omar an idea.
Less than a year later Omar is the CEO and co-founder of SellAnyHome.com.
Home owners or sellers go onto the website and enter basic information about their house. This includes where it is, the number of rooms and size. Within 10 seconds, they are given an estimate of the value of their home.
The seller then books an appointment online with a consultant who visits the home and carries out an appraisal. Pictures are uploaded onto the app, and buyers make offers within 30 minutes. The seller gets the highest offer. However, they don’t have to accept it, making it safe for sellers.
The clear target for the website is real estate investors. These can be individuals with just a few properties or funds investing in hundreds of properties.
The company makes commission on the final sale price, meaning it’s in their interest to bring as many investors as possible on board.
Sellers who want to get the deal done quickly, and don’t want to deal with endless potential buyer visits are attracted by the speed with which they can complete a transaction.
The CEO of SellAnyHome.com is optimistic about the real estate future in Dubai.
He said: “Dubai is an amazing market for us to get into, both as a tech start-up, and how amazing its real estate market is. There are a lot of massive projects, there’s Expo 2020, there’s a lot of opportunity. It’s a really lively market. If I was in San Francisco, I would still pick Dubai to start this.”
