It’s not going to be completed until 2020, but Dubai’s newest multi-billion dirham development has been showcased in a sneak peek video.
Costing Dh3.65 billion (£771 million), the Dubai Creek Harbour development was shown off by property developer Emaar in a video, which was titled ‘Fly Through Dubai Creek Harbour’. The idea of the video was to show off a couple of minutes of footage while sweeping through the project. An idea of the scale and grandeur of the newest project in the city was given to eager viewers.
One of the most impressive features of Dubai Creek Harbour will be a tower standing at 928 metres high. Perhaps unsurprisingly known as ‘The Tower’, it will have the honour of being the tallest in the world. It’s also at the very centre of the whole development, which is sprawled across 6km of Dubai Creek Harbour.
Described by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai as a ‘unique architectural masterpiece’, The Tower is considered to be as majestic as Burj Khalifa and the Eiffel Tower.
The Tower will have leisure and residential facilities, including a ‘VIP’ observation deck. The deck is fully landscaped and designed to replicate the ‘splendour of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon’. There is also a viewing deck with vistas spanning 360 degrees called The Pinnacle Room for residents who want to get a fantastic view of the city.
The balconies on The Tower will extend away from the building and rotate outside of the walls, and there will also be a special boutique hotel for visitors to stay in. Apart from all of these fantastic and opulent facilities, The Tower’s position is bound to be attractive for residents as well.
It’s located next to the Ras Al Khor National Wildlife Sanctuary, just off Dubai Creek. The area is an environment that is home to more than 65 species of water birds along with other wildlife, and is protected under the UNESCO Ramsar Convention. All of which makes it one of the most exciting developments in Dubai at the moment.
