Samir Salya looks at new wellness venture in Dubai

The current global trend for wellness has reached Dubai real estate, with the announcement of a themed residential development. It’s a joint venture between Dubai Healthcare City Investments (DHCI) and specialist developer Swiss Property.

Together they intend to bring wellness themed residential units, shops, entertainment and facilities to Al Jaddaf. The new units will sit alongside and complement the existing residential units that are planned for the Phase 2 expansion at the site.

New project situated overlooking water

Both companies will pool their development know-how to create the residential cluster at a prime spot. The phase 2 cluster will be built on land that overlooks Dubai Creek, the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary and the Dubai Water Canal, which will enhance the relaxation and tranquillity of the development.

The masterplan for the development includes new residences, shops and hospitality components, as well as specialist health and wellness facilities for residents and workers to enjoy. There is already a residential cluster in Phase 2 of the project, which will accommodate around 25,000 residents in the future. The new wellness cluster will be designed to complement this existing part of the project.

The new project is called La Reserve Residences and will include 230 units, which will be a mix of one to four-bedroom duplex and simplex apartments. It’s scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.

Real estate part of wellness market

Real estate is one of the fastest growing sectors within the global wellness market, which is growing in the Middle East.
